For a long-lasting finish, always lay on a well-compacted sub-base with a full mortar bed — don’t spot bed. Keep joints consistent and brush in jointing sand or use a suitable jointing compound to lock everything in place. Allow for a slight fall away from buildings to ensure proper drainage.
