The most important characteristics of these products are: high dimensional stability, low swelling and absorption and excellent machining quality. As these boards are highly resistant to moisture, they can be used in more severe conditions than standard MDF.
However, in those environments where there is an intermittent contact with water, such as kitchens, bathrooms and other building applications, it is important to take special precautions during the sealing/finishing process, especially as regards bare edges, so also prevent the possible sepage of water into the core. They are identified through an inscription on the edges. E1 classification: low formaldehyde content.
